I work as an editor at NOS Binnenland / Radio 1 Journaal. I also work as a moderator or chairperson. I am an (East) German living in the Netherlands. I am fully bilingual in German and Dutch [🇩🇪 🇳🇱]. From 2012 to 2021, I worked as a freelance journalist in Berlin for RBB, among others, as well as a camerawoman and Germany correspondent for various Dutch media outlets, including RTL Nieuws. I grew up in East Berlin and, as a 10-year-old, vividly remember the fall of the Wall. As an expert on Germany, I am occasionally asked to contribute to Radio 1 and television programs, among others.

In 2024, I created the podcast “Over the Wall”, in which I look back on my childhood in the GDR. What memories do I still have? And how do my elementary school classmates look back on those days? But the Netherlands also played an important role in the Cold War and maintained (trade) relations with the GDR. How did my new homeland view my old one back then?
