RTV Utrecht: Therapist from Woudenberg to Face Disciplinary Board

A therapist from Woudenberg appeared before the Disciplinary Board in Den Bosch today. He is alleged to have touched several patients in an unprofessional manner. The Health and Youth Care Inspectorate had previously received a number of complaints about this, and the man was already required to stop working as a therapist in August of last year. The Inspectorate is now also seeking a professional ban against him.

At the disciplinary hearing in Den Bosch this afternoon, visitors were asked to leave the room after just five minutes—as two witnesses were being heard behind closed doors. After just under an hour, everyone was allowed back into the courtroom, and more details were revealed. The physical contact reportedly included placing an arm around a shoulder and hugs, as well as hugs when saying goodbye after a therapy session. In addition, some of the four patients in question are said to have sat on his lap during therapy. The patients reportedly did not give consent for those physical contacts, even though they should have.
