RTV Utrecht: Coach Leaves NVC After Voicing Suspicions

Nieuwegein, April 9, 2009 — The NVC, the Nieuwegein Volleyball Club, will be saying goodbye to one of its youth coaches at the end of this season. U Vandaag traveled to Nieuwegein to get answers to a few questions. Reporter Ulrike Nagel was on the scene.

Earlier this year, the woman had approached the board because she was concerned about a male member of the club. He was allegedly convicted of pedophilia in the past. The board told her that nothing in the man’s past would indicate pedophilic tendencies. Now her contract will not be renewed.

The board says it has no objection to the woman expressing her concerns; their issue was more with the way she did so.
